Niykee's personal highlights include being hand-picked to join Snoop at the YouTube Brandcast, in May 2013, and writing songs, despite the turbulence of the past few years. The singer-songwriter is fascinated by Niykee. She is always looking at new beats. They often inspire song ideas. "I'll be able to tell within 5 minutes if this is a quality beat. Once I've a melody in my brain I'll begin writing straight away." If I am sitting on my porch and play guitar, the lyrics just flow and are usually done in less than 30 minutes. Niykee says that when she grows as a lyricist and musician, her memories of her youth serve as source of inspiration. "Even when I don't write about my own life in the open it is the loss of my sister and the pain of my childhood are incorporated into my music," she says. My songs are shaped by it and I can sense the deep meaning behind all of it. It's among the things that is most important to me.
