Having been first drawn by the shadows of trees she spotted in the grass, she did a lot of exploring a process that didn't present the chosen object in a two-dimensional form on canvas. This way, the selected subject is transformed into an image. This is particularly true for living things as well as those that are likely to perish for example, like fruits or human beings. Alexa's style of painting is ephemeral, the only thing left of Alexa Meade is her photograph. Painting and photography are closely coordinated to create two-dimensional flat surface which is trompe l'oeil. In certain places, three dimensions are visible, like near the eye or the hair. Meade sometimes incorporates painted models into the environment around them. This allows them to be part of the world the artist has constructed. This way, the line between photography and painting is dissolved.
